Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the ears or head where no external source is present. It is usually described as a ringing noise, buzzing, hissing, humming, roaring, crickets or beeping. Tinnitus can be intermittent or it can be constant and cause an individual to experience anxiety, fatigue, and loss of sleep.

The exact cause of tinnitus is not known. Some things which are known to trigger or worsen tinnitus are:
